Volunteer with us!

We have vacancies for enthusiastic volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to join our team in a variety of roles are fundamental to the work of the organisation and we are thankful of all the amazing people who have chosen to devote personal time to contribute to Interculture’s work of promoting, celebrating and supporting intercultural awareness and communication within and among local communities

What can Volunteers expect from Interculture?

  • A space to learn more about the topics of interest of the organisation such as intercultural awareness, conscious and  Unconscious bias, Whiteness, Islamophobia awareness, racism and discrimination.

  • Information, orientation, relevant training and professional development.

  • An increased knowledge of intercultural issues, networking skills, marketing, social media, BAME issues and how Bristol works.

  • A chance to increase your network and have training on networking skills.

  • A space to contribute to the local community through their ideas, skills and experiences.

  • To be treated fairly and with respect. Interculture will promote a positive and safe environment, where volunteers can feel encouraged to share their opinions and ideas with the team.

  • Support and help to solve any conflict that may arise within the organisation or while volunteering. We will support you to do this as part of your University course.

  • The opportunity to attend and participate in cultural / anti - racism/ anti - Islamophobia/ diversity / community / corporate events.

  • Valuable experience of being part of a very diverse team.

  • You will be working directly with the founding director and other volunteers. We have a great working relationship and are looking for new volunteers to join our friendly and passionate team.

Minimum Volunteering Requirements

  • A basic understanding of intercultural awareness and motivation to make a difference.

  • A willingness to research relevant themes/ organisations and individuals. ( support provided)

  • A willingness to step out of your comfort zone.

  • You will need to come into the office at least once a week, but can also work remotely.

  • Attend a monthly team meeting. 

  • Interculture encourages candidates from under-represented groups such as people from BAME and LGBTQ+ backgrounds
